Panic gripped Khowai town today after an aggressive stray dog went on a biting spree, injuring at least 12 people across different parts of the town.
The incident began early in the morning when the dog started running through the streets and attacking pedestrians indiscriminately. Among the injured are a BSF jawan, students, women, and elderly persons.
All of them sustained bite injuries and were rushed to Khowai District Hospital for treatment.
As news of the attacks spread, fear swept across the town, with many residents avoiding the streets out of concern for their safety.
According to local sources, the dog was finally cornered by residents in the Gankee area, where they beat it to death in an attempt to prevent further attacks.
The sudden outbreak of attacks has raised concerns about stray dog management and public safety in the region.
