Centre sanctions Rs 14.96 Crore to expedite Light House Project in Tripura
The Central Government has sanctioned ₹14.96 crore for the swift completion of the Light House Project in Tripura, a flagship housing initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

An official from the Tripura Urban Planning and Development Authority (TUDA) expressed confidence that the project will be completed soon, despite previous setbacks.

“The Light House Project aims to provide permanent housing to economically weaker and low-income families across Tripura,” the official said. “While challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, adverse terrain, and last year’s floods delayed progress, the state government has been working relentlessly to ensure timely completion.”

He added that Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has been actively engaging with the Union Ministry to push the project forward. “These consistent efforts have borne fruit, with the Centre releasing ₹14.96 crore to fast-track construction,” the official stated.
