Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today inaugurated 20 development projects and laid the foundation stones for two more in Kamalpur, Dhalai district, marking another milestone in the state’s ongoing development drive. The combined value of these projects is around Rs 207 crore.

Addressing a public gathering at Manikbhandar Harachandra HS School ground, Dr. Saha said that the state government’s primary goal is to improve the quality of life of the people through holistic and inclusive development.

“The government is working to identify and address the basic issues that are priorities in public life. One of our major objectives is to ensure socio-economic growth for people across both rural and urban areas,” he said.

Dr. Saha highlighted that Dhalai district, categorized as an aspirational district by NITI Aayog, has been receiving special attention since 2018. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for inclusive growth as the guiding force behind these efforts.

“Most parts of Dhalai are aspirational blocks. Since our government took office, we have emphasized development in this region with the support of the Central Government. Several initiatives are being implemented to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the district. Unfortunately, the opposition ignores this progress, though the results are visible across the state,” he said.

The Chief Minister noted that projects inaugurated under various departments—including Rural Development, Urban Development, Health, Education, Public Works, and National Highways—reflect the government’s commitment to all-round progress.

“Development is a continuous process. The State Government is taking forward one initiative after another to ensure economic and social advancement,” Dr. Saha said.

He added that new infrastructure is being developed across Tripura, including administrative buildings, health centres, roads, bridges, school buildings, markets, hostels, and modern facilities such as motor stands and synthetic football grounds.

Reaffirming his commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047, Dr. Saha said Tripura is also striving to build a Viksit Tripura through targeted and transparent governance.

Highlighting Tripura’s progress on key parameters, the Chief Minister said, “NITI Aayog has recognized Tripura as a ‘Front Runner’ state. To enhance transparency and efficiency, e-offices have been introduced from the Cabinet level down to Panchayats, which has benefited the public greatly.”

Dr. Saha also announced that plans are underway to establish a medical college at Dhalai District Hospital. “The number of beds in the government medical college hospital has already increased from 727 to 1,413,” he added.
