Ahead of the TTAADC polls, a bomb was reportedly thrown at the house of Arjun Debbarma, president of the Tipra Motha party, in the Jampuijala block late last night.

On Wednesday afternoon, after receiving the news, Jampuijala subdivision police officer Snehashish Kumar Deb, along with Jampuijala police station O.C. Mrinal Kanti Reang and second O.C. Shantanu Debbarma, rushed to Debbarma’s residence. The incident has caused widespread fear across the area.

Debbarma’s house is located near Jampuijala market. Incidents of bomb and firearm attacks have reportedly increased on the hills ahead of the ADC elections.

Political circles suggest that ruling and allied parties might get involved in clashes over control of the hills. The attack on a Motha party worker’s house has led to allegations against BJP workers. Tension remains high across the Jampuijala subdivision, but police administration has moved swiftly to manage the situation.
