The Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala solemnly observed Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21 with due respect and deep reverence.
In line with commemorations taking place across the globe, the office in Agartala marked the day with appropriate dignity. The program began with the laying of floral wreaths at a temporary Shaheed Minar set up at the premises of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, paying tribute to the Language Movement martyrs.
To honor the occasion, the national flag of Bangladesh was kept at half-mast throughout the day at the mission.
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, tribute was paid to the valiant sons of the soil who sacrificed their lives to secure recognition for the Bangla language. A cultural program was also organized as part of the observance, highlighting the significance of the day and the rich heritage of the Bengali language.
Assistant High Commissioner Hasan Al Basar Abul Ulai and other officials and staff members of the mission were present at the event.
