Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday reiterated his government’s strong focus on good governance, effective law and order, and accelerated development across the state.
Speaking at an event marking the inauguration of the Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha Path in Patna, the Chief Minister said that a strong policing system and stable governance are essential for industrial growth and attracting investment in Bihar.
He stressed that industries can only thrive in a secure environment, adding that strengthening administrative systems remains a top priority.
Sending a firm message on crime control, Choudhary stated that strict action would be taken within 48 hours against anyone challenging the police. He made it clear that no criminal would be spared, irrespective of caste, religion, or background, and that law enforcement would remain completely impartial.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s goal of building a crime-free Bihar and said there would be no compromise on maintaining law and order. He added that a safe environment is crucial for employment generation, investment, and overall economic growth.
He also noted that police and administrative officials have been directed to stay alert and proactive to ensure public safety and stability.
On the development front, Choudhary highlighted several ongoing and completed infrastructure projects in Patna aimed at resolving waterlogging and improving urban facilities. These include the Mandiri Drain Project, Saidpur Drain Project, Rajiv Nagar Drain Project, expansion of road networks, and the development of modern stormwater drainage systems.
According to him, these initiatives will significantly reduce waterlogging problems in the capital.
Recalling his earlier tenure as Urban Development Minister in 2014, he mentioned a pilot drainage and road project launched in the Digha area. He noted that while concerns had been raised earlier about maintenance of drainage systems, the government has now put in place regular cleaning mechanisms and strict instructions to officials, ensuring zero tolerance for negligence.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister said that governance, infrastructure development, and law and order are closely linked pillars of progress. He expressed confidence that a safe, efficient, and well-governed Bihar will pave the way for new economic opportunities and sustainable growth.
