Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that BJP will win the Dharmanagar by-election with a huge margin, surpassing last year’s record and development will be the main agenda.
Dr. Saha said this after attending an organisational meeting at Dharmanagar today.
He said, “Everyone knows that our Speaker and MLA of Dharmanagar Legislative Assembly Constituency, Biswa Bandhu Sen, has passed away. Because of this, the seat has been left vacant, and this is the reason the by-election is scheduled to take place.”
“From BJP, we have fielded Jawahar Chakraborty, who has been engaged with BJP for a long time and has held responsibilities for many posts. I have come here to Dharmanagar for him along with Ministers and senior BJP leaders. I was supposed to come here tomorrow, but due to the assembly schedule, I will be unable to come, which is why I have come today. BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya will come tonight and will file the nomination tomorrow. Jawahar Chakraborty is a very gentle man,” said Dr. Saha.
He said that there is no opponent to BJP in the by-polls.
“I don’t think we have any opponent. We will win this time, surpassing the vote percentage of last year. People are happy, and karyakartas are working tirelessly. This organisational meeting was held successfully, and after the nomination submission, we will reach out to everyone. This assembly constituency has seen massive development under the BJP government, and development will be our main agenda,” he added.
Dr. Saha also called upon all office-bearers and karyakartas to work unitedly to ensure the victory of the BJP-nominated candidate, Jawahar Chakraborty, by a huge margin of votes.
