The Budget Session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly began on Friday at the Assembly building in Agartala.
The session was inaugurated by the Governor of Tripura, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, who delivered his customary address to the House.
The session commenced at 11:00 a.m. In keeping with legislative tradition, the Governor outlined the state government's policies, achievements over the past year, and its future priorities and development plans during his address.
According to the official agenda issued by the Assembly Secretariat, a copy of the Governor’s address was tabled in the House by the Assembly Secretary following the speech. The agenda for the day also included the motion of thanks on the Governor’s address and a discussion on the report of the Business Advisory Committee.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul is currently performing the duties of the Speaker until a new Speaker is elected. The situation arose following the demise of former Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen.
The Assembly will also adopt a condolence resolution in memory of the late former Speaker during the session.
Official sources said that over the next few days, the Budget Session will deliberate on several important legislative and financial matters concerning the state. Discussions will include government policies, development initiatives, and budget allocations.
