The State Police Crime Branch has achieved a major breakthrough in the Phensedyl seizure case at Jirania Railway Station with the arrest of the prime accused, Deep Prakash Gupta.

According to police sources, Gupta is a resident of Delhi and was arrested from Uttar Pradesh. After his arrest, he has already been brought to the state and is scheduled to be produced before the court today.

It may be recalled that a huge consignment of Phensedyl was earlier recovered from a railway wagon at Jirania, triggering widespread sensation across the state. During the investigation, Deep Prakash Gupta was identified as the key mastermind behind the international drug trafficking racket linked to the seizure.

Police believe that further interrogation of the accused could reveal crucial information about other individuals involved in the racket, as well as its international connections. The investigation into the case has been intensified to dismantle the entire drug trafficking network.
