A shocking case of alleged land fraud has come to light in the Nandan Nagar area of Agartala, near the well-known Don Bosco School. The incident involves claims that a deceased individual was falsely shown as alive to execute multiple forged land deeds and illegally sell a plot of land.
According to the complaint, two local land brokers, Abdul Karim Miah and Billal Hossain, allegedly created four fake deeds in the name of the late Nagendra Sarkar. Using these forged documents, they reportedly sold the same piece of land to four different buyers.
The family of Nagendra Sarkar, stunned by the incident, approached the West District Magistrate, Dr. Vishal Kumar, seeking justice.
They presented detailed evidence and urged immediate intervention. The District Magistrate has assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated, including how such fraudulent documents were created.
Meanwhile, Ranjit Sarkar, son of the deceased, strongly condemned the act and demanded strict punishment for those responsible. He emphasized that his father had been falsely portrayed as alive to carry out the fraud. Ranjit also appealed to the administration to help restore their ancestral land and ensure justice is served.
Authorities are expected to begin a detailed inquiry into the matter, raising concerns about document verification processes and land transaction security in the region.
