Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag on Friday affirmed that the state police have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections are conducted in a peaceful, free, and fair manner.
Ahead of the polls, the DGP has been visiting various districts to review preparedness and hold meetings with District Superintendents of Police, Commandants of the Tripura State Rifles, and other officials.
On Friday, he visited Gomati district, where he met with officers from the Gomati and South district police administrations to assess the situation.
Speaking to the media, DGP Anurag stated that preparations for the 12th TTAADC elections have been completed. He emphasized that personnel have already been deployed and strategic plans are in place to ensure smooth conduct of the entire election process, including pre-poll, polling day, and post-poll phases.
He further added that regular coordination meetings are being held with district SPs and Police Headquarters officials, along with continuous monitoring and reviews.
Highlighting his visit, the DGP said the purpose was to evaluate ground conditions and discuss measures to maintain law and order. He assured that additional steps would be taken if necessary to uphold peace and security.
“We are closely reviewing the situation and will take further action if required. Our priority is to ensure that the elections are conducted in a peaceful, free, and fair environment,” he said.
