The Government of Tripura has relieved Dr. Shailesh, IAS (TR:2013), from his duties as Director of Industries and Commerce  and CEO of Agartala Smart City limited following his appointment to a central posting.

According to an official notification issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, the Governor has approved placing the services of Dr. Shailesh at the disposal of the Government of India, Department of Health and Family Welfare. He will serve as Deputy Secretary in the National Health Authority (NHA), New Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of four years or until further orders.

Dr. Shailesh has been relieved of his state assignment with effect from the date he formally hands over charge to assume his new post by November 7, 2025.

In a separate notification, the state government announced interim arrangements following his release. Shri D. K. Chakma, IAS, Municipal Commissioner of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, will additionally hold charge as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Agartala Smart City Ltd.

The senior-most officer of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Tripura, will temporarily hold additional charges of Director of Industries and Commerce, Managing Director of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Ltd., and Mission Director of Tripura Bamboo Mission, Agartala, until further orders.

Both notifications were issued under the order of the Governor and signed by Jai Datta, Under Secretary to the Government of Tripura.
