A fire broke out at the Udaipur Banduar Electricity Department early in the morning, creating panic among local residents. The incident was first reported to the Udaipur Fire Station at around 7:37 a.m. Upon receiving the call, Officer-in-Charge Jiban Sarkar immediately rushed to the spot with one fire engine.

Soon after, two more engines from Udaipur were dispatched to assist in controlling the blaze. However, as the fire continued to spread, two additional engines were brought in from Kakraban and Palatana ONGC TPC units. In total, five fire engines were deployed, and after nearly one and a half hours of continuous effort, firefighters managed to bring the situation under control.

According to OC Jiban Sarkar, the fire originated in the transformer repair room of the electricity department, though the exact cause is still under investigation. The intensity of the flames caused widespread alarm, prompting nearby residents to evacuate their homes for safety.

After the fire was extinguished, a sense of relief returned among the people of Udaipur.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
