In a remarkable journey of resilience and self-belief, Purnima Roy, a proud member of the Pritilata Self Help Group (SHG) under the Kalimata Village Organization (VO) and Sarbashakti CLF, has risen to become an inspiring Lakhpati Didi, transforming not only her life but also motivating women across her community.

With a strong desire to achieve financial independence, Purnima stepped into the world of mushroom cultivation—a field she was deeply passionate about but lacked the initial resources to pursue. Determined to turn her dreams into reality, she accessed a loan of ₹50,000 through her SHG network, a lifeline that opened doors to new possibilities.

Using the support strategically, Purnima prepared 300 mushroom beds, sowing the seeds of a new beginning. Her hard work, discipline, and unwavering dedication soon paid off. Today, she proudly earns a monthly income of ₹25,000 to ₹30,000, a steady and sustainable livelihood that has uplifted her family’s financial condition and strengthened her position as a leader within her community.

Purnima’s story stands as a testament to the transformative power of SHGs in empowering rural women. Through collective strength, access to credit, and the courage to dream big, women like her are reshaping the entrepreneurial landscape of Tripura.

Her success continues to inspire many others in the region to take bold steps, harness available opportunities, and pursue sustainable sources of income.

With her thriving mushroom beds symbolizing growth and hope, Purnima Roy proves that when courage meets opportunity, dreams truly do flourish.
