A shocking incident of domestic violence has emerged from Harishnagar Munda Para in the Kamalasagar area of Sepahijala district, where a man allegedly beat his wife to death in front of their two children. 

The accused has been identified as Laxminadhar Munda, while the deceased housewife was identified as Moni Munda.

According to local sources, the accused began assaulting his wife on Thursday afternoon. Neighbours reportedly tried several times to intervene and stop the violence, but their efforts failed to calm the situation. It is alleged that the assault continued throughout the night.

Residents and family members claimed that during the late hours of the night, Laxminadhar Munda used a piece of wood to brutally beat his wife. The horrifying incident reportedly took place in front of their two children. Due to the prolonged and severe assault, Moni Munda sustained critical injuries.

On Friday morning, neighbours found the accused sitting beside the lifeless body of his wife. As the news spread, panic and outrage gripped the entire locality.

After receiving information, police from Bishalgarh Police Station rushed to the spot. The accused husband was immediately arrested and taken into custody. Police also recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Local residents alleged that the accused frequently used to assault his wife, and incidents of domestic violence had occurred earlier as well. Police suspect that ongoing family disputes may have led to the tragic incident.

An investigation into the matter has been initiated by Bishalgarh Police.
