Jishnu Dev Varma was sworn in as the new Governor of Maharashtra. The oath‑taking ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, and was attended by the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and many dignitaries.
Varma has extensive experience in administration and politics. Previously, he served as the Governor of Telangana. He has also been the Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, where he held important portfolios such as Energy and Rural Development.
Originally from Tripura, Varma is also have ties with the royal family of the state. After the ceremony, he formally assumed the responsibilities of the Governor of Maharashtra.
There is an expectation that during his tenure, various administrative and developmental works in the state will gain momentum.
