Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced today that security measures have been significantly strengthened across Agartala ahead of the grand closing ceremony of the Tripura Unity Promo Fest – 2025, scheduled for Friday.

The event will feature a live performance by acclaimed Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal and the presence of Tripura Tourism brand ambassador Sourav Ganguly.

After reviewing the preparations at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, the minister said that CCTV cameras have been installed throughout the venue, while volunteers and police personnel in plain clothes will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct. Additional police forces will also be stationed at strategic locations in the city.

“We don’t want any disturbance,” Chowdhury emphasized, noting that preparations are in their final stages.

He added that senior officials from the police and tourism departments visited the venue together to oversee the arrangements. Reflecting on past experiences, he stressed that special attention is being given to ensuring the safety and convenience of the Chief Minister, ministers, and other dignitaries, as well as preventing any law-and-order issues.

Chowdhury said this year’s Unity Promo Fest has garnered remarkable enthusiasm. “We have issued passes and the demand keeps increasing. We are hopeful that Tripura will create a new record with its participation,” he said.

He further stated that the final arrangements are being carried out under the close supervision of the police and district administration. “We want full cooperation with the police and wish to avoid any confrontation,” he added.

Later, the minister chaired an important final review meeting at the office of the Director of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited at the Palace Compound (Shwetmahal). The meeting was attended by the Secretary, Director, and officials from all levels of the Tourism Department to ensure the successful execution of Friday’s grand finale.
