Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday said that several development-oriented projects are currently underway across the state to transform the transport infrastructure.
He stated that the initiatives include the construction of a new Transport Commissionerate office in Agartala, establishment of new District Transport Offices (DTOs) in different districts, and the development of new motor stands at various locations across the state.
The minister made the remarks while chairing a high-level review meeting at the state secretariat to assess the progress of multiple ongoing infrastructure development projects under the Transport Department across the state.
During the meeting, senior officials from the Transport Department, Public Works Department (PWD), Rural Development Department, and the Housing Board, along with representatives of the concerned construction agencies, were present.
The meeting reviewed the current progress of the projects, their timelines, and financial aspects.
The minister directed the concerned agencies to complete the construction work expeditiously while maintaining quality standards and to submit the required Utilization Certificates upon completion of the projects.
