On the occasion of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad’s (TMCP) Foundation Day, Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday urged student leaders of her party to remain uncompromising in their fight against injustice.
Extending greetings to both new and existing members of the student wing, Banerjee described TMCP as an “inseparable part of the Trinamool family” and underscored the importance of their role in the party’s mission ahead of next year’s Assembly elections.
“On this historic day, I congratulate all TMCP members. In our journey for Bengal’s progress and strength, your involvement is crucial. I urge you to never compromise with injustice. Hold your heads high — in any such battle, I will always be by your side,” Banerjee said in a message posted on her social media platforms.
Later in the day, the Chief Minister is scheduled to address a rally in central Kolkata, which the party has described as a massive show of strength. Sources said she is expected to outline new directions for the organisation, energising the student leaders before the 2026 polls.
Trinamool Congress national general secretary and Lok Sabha leader Abhishek Banerjee also shared a message, hailing TMCP as a platform that empowers youth to drive change and social justice.
“On #TMCPFoundationDay, we salute the enduring role of Bengal’s youth in spearheading movements for progress. TMCP has always given young people the strength to raise their voices, chase their dreams, and work for a brighter future. I thank every member for their commitment and urge all to carry this legacy forward with renewed dedication. Joy Bangla!” Abhishek said in a post on X.
Both Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee will address TMCP members at a rally on Mayo Road in Kolkata.
