Tripura Police arrested a man late Saturday night after seizing Yaba tablets valued at approximately ₹12 lakh from West Noabadi, located on the outskirts of Agartala.

According to Officer-in-Charge of Bodhjung Nagar Police Station, Prasanta Kumar Dey, the police received a tip-off around 10 PM about a large stash of drugs stored at a residence in the area. Acting swiftly, a team led by him, along with the DCM of Jirania, conducted a raid at the location.

During the operation, officials recovered 11,800 Yaba tablets. The contraband was seized, and the suspect, identified as Dipen Datta, was taken into custody. A case has been registered against him.

Police also revealed that the accused had previously been arrested in 2022 under the NDPS Act. During initial interrogation, he made several statements, which are currently being verified. He is reportedly employed as a pump operator.
