A tense situation unfolded on Saturday morning in the Icharbil Solgharia area under Teliamura subdivision of Khowai District, Tripura, after an unidentified man was violently attacked by locals who suspected him of involvement in child trafficking. 

The incident sparked widespread unrest and panic in the locality.

According to local accounts, the man was reportedly seen interacting with children in a manner that residents found suspicious. Within minutes, a crowd gathered, confronted him, and began beating him. He was dragged onto the road and subjected to a severe assault, eventually collapsing and bleeding heavily.

Upon receiving information about the incident, officers from Teliamura Police Station rushed to the scene. They intervened, dispersed the crowd, and rescued the injured man. He was immediately taken to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital for medical treatment.

Police stated that the motive behind the man's presence in the area is still unclear and that he is currently being questioned.

“We received a call alleging that the man was trying to abduct a child. When we arrived, we found him severely beaten by the public. He has sustained multiple injuries,” a police official confirmed.
