A devastating fire reduced a residential house to ashes near the Battala crematorium area. 

The incident occurred at the home of Mintu Debnath, local sources said.

According to fire service officials, a tenant named Uttam Debnath had been living in the tin-roofed house. They suspect that the blaze was triggered by an electrical short circuit.

Firefighters reported that they were initially unable to locate the house because the address they received was inaccurate. After receiving a second phone call with the correct location, they reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control. They stated that the situation could have escalated into an even more severe disaster had they not arrived in time.

Two fire engines were deployed to douse the flames. The blaze caused extensive damage to both the homeowner’s property and the tenant’s belongings. The incident has sparked considerable commotion in the area.
