To ensure smooth travel for devotees during the upcoming Diwali Festival 2025, the Tripura government has announced the operation of two special trains for pilgrims visiting the revered Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district.
Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated that the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway will operate the special trains — Agartala–Sabroom–Agartala and Agartala–Dharmanagar–Agartala — during the festive period to accommodate the surge of passengers traveling to the temple of the “Beautiful Mother of Tripura.”
Expressing gratitude, Minister Chowdhury thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support in facilitating this special arrangement.
“Keeping in view the convenience of pilgrims visiting Mata Tripureshwari Temple during Diwali, NF Railway has arranged two special trains. I sincerely thank the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister, and the Union Railway Minister for their constant support to the people of Tripura,” Chowdhury said.
The decision has been warmly welcomed by residents and devotees alike, as it is expected to reduce travel congestion and boost religious tourism in the state during one of its most significant festivals.
According to a press release issued by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), the Lumding Division (LMG) will operate the following special trains to manage the festive rush:
Train No. 07615/07616 Agartala–Dharmanagar–Agartala
Train No. 07613/07614 Agartala–Sabroom–Agartala
Both pairs of special trains will run from October 20 to October 22, 2025, ensuring convenient and comfortable travel for passengers visiting the temple during the Diwali celebrations.
