PM Modi’s welfare initiatives have benefited Tripura: RS MP

Tripura Rajya Sabha MP and former BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare-oriented initiatives have brought significant benefits to the people of Tripura, particularly poor and economically weaker families.

Speaking at a programme organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Bhattacharya said Modi has completed 25 years in public service, beginning as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and later serving as Prime Minister since 2014.

“Twenty-five years of public service is a historic journey and a matter of pride for us,” Bhattacharya said, adding that Modi has worked for different sections of society, including the poor, workers, women and youth.

He said the BJP is observing Modi’s birthday as part of Seva, Sushasan and Sankalp, with various programmes being organised across the country from September 17 to October 7.

As part of the celebrations, BJP workers of the Banamalipur Mandal visited a Kali temple and offered prayers for the Prime Minister’s long life and continued ability to serve the country. They also participated in a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Bhattacharya highlighted the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) as one of the major welfare initiatives benefiting poor families in Tripura. He said the scheme has enabled economically weaker families to obtain permanent houses, something many poor households had previously considered beyond their reach.

“Providing pucca houses to poor families is one of the most significant initiatives. Many people could not even imagine owning a permanent house, but the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has made this possible,” he said.

He said BJP workers would visit beneficiaries’ homes to assess the implementation of various government schemes and understand how much these initiatives have benefited people at the grassroots level.

Bhattacharya said the programmes being organised during the birthday celebrations are aimed at strengthening the spirit of public service and highlighting the implementation of welfare schemes among the people.
