In a significant success for the ongoing anti-drug campaign, the Tripura Police in Mungia Kami have seized a large quantity of cannabis and arrested two individuals involved in its transport.

During a routine vehicle check at the 41 Mile Naka point today, police stopped a WagonR car (Registration No. UP 32 BZ 1014) on suspicion. 

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 43 kilograms of dried cannabis, packed in 43 separate packets.

The two occupants of the car were immediately taken into custody. Preliminary questioning revealed that they were transporting the consignment to another district.

Police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act. The Officer-in-Charge of Mungia Kami police station stated, “Surveillance has been intensified based on confidential sources, and such operations will continue in the future.”

The operation has garnered attention in the area. Local authorities and police sources confirmed that special monitoring is being conducted to crack down on drug trafficking networks active along the border region.
