The residents of West Champamura Ward No. 2, under the Khayerpur Assembly Constituency, have been suffering due to the deplorable condition of roads in the area.
Despite repeated appeals to the administration, no effective action has been taken so far.
Locals allege that public representatives are more concerned with serving their own interests than addressing the people’s problems.
Daily commuters are facing severe hardship due to the dilapidated roads. Potholes filled with muddy water have made walking and driving extremely difficult, posing constant risks to pedestrians. The situation turns even worse during the monsoon season.
Expressing strong resentment, elderly residents of the area said that they have repeatedly approached the authorities, but their pleas have gone unheard. “Leaders visit us only during elections with promises, but once the polls are over, they disappear,” they said.
The residents have demanded immediate road repair work. They have also warned that if the administration fails to take prompt action, they will be forced to launch a larger public agitation.
