Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Sunday alleged that certain vested individuals, unaffiliated with any political party, are deliberately inciting violence between the BJP and the Tipra Motha Party for personal gain and to tarnish Tripura’s image before the Centre.

His remarks came after he visited a Tipra Motha Party office in Khumulwng, within the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), that had been set ablaze, and met several injured party workers.

Pradyot claimed that a conspiracy is underway.

“There are people who are trying to damage my relationship with the Chief Minister. During the incidents of violence, I was in constant touch with the DGP, yet rumours were spread in many places. Some vested interests are working to create conflict between the BJP and Tipra Motha for their own benefit. These individuals have been part of CPIM, Congress, IPFT, Tipra Motha, and BJP at different times. They are criminals who have no loyalty to any party or religion. They switch sides for money and protection,” Pradyot alleged.

He emphasized that no member of his party would ever torch their own office.

“We must stand up against the goonda elements who have infiltrated our political system. We must work together to ensure that anti-social forces do not find space in any political party. Some people are trying to malign our name, but I am not interested in such politics. My focus is peace and development for both tribal and non-tribal communities in Tripura. It is the common people who suffer the most from such disturbances. I urge the public to stand against these miscreants, who have no party and no religion. The police must also take appropriate action. There is no place for violence. The Chief Minister and I share a good understanding, and we do not want it to be destroyed,” he said.
