Residents of Panchmanagar area in Kailashahar have expressed strong anger against the police after a missing person case remained unresolved. Locals staged a blockade on the national highway, accusing the police of negligence in handling the matter.
According to reports, Ram Mohan Debbarma, a resident of Panchmanagar village under Mailong ADC Village in Kailashahar, went to his daughter’s house in the Ganganagar area on the afternoon of March 3. Since then, he has been missing.
Family members searched for him in several places but were unable to find any trace of him. Later, the family filed a written complaint at the Fatikroy Police Station.
However, the family alleged that even after submitting the complaint, the police did not take adequate steps to investigate the case. They also claimed that when family members visited the police station, they were treated in an inappropriate and discourteous manner.
The incident has triggered widespread anger across the Mailong ADC Village area. Members of the local tribal community have raised strong protests against the role of the police. They have warned of a national highway blockade if immediate steps are not taken to locate the missing person, Ram Mohan Debbarma.
Tension continues to prevail in the area as residents demand swift action from the authorities.
