The Scheduled Castes Welfare Department must take a more proactive role in ensuring that the benefits of central and state government schemes aimed at the holistic development of the Scheduled Caste community reach every eligible beneficiary, said SC Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das today.
Addressing a state-level review meeting organised by the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department at the conference hall of the in Gorkhabasti, the minister emphasized the need for effective implementation of welfare initiatives undertaken for the SC community.
He stated that the department must prioritise timely execution of its action plan for the upcoming financial year while also evaluating the progress of ongoing programmes for the 2025–26 fiscal year.
During the meeting, officials reviewed the progress of various projects and services under the SC Welfare Department. Detailed discussions were also held on the scholarship schemes for SC students, the scholarship disbursement process and the challenges currently being faced. Senior officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
