The traditional Rath Yatra festival in the capital city witnessed a vibrant celebration not only with the grand chariot procession but also with numerous small chariots organised by children across different neighbourhoods.

As in previous years, children were seen pulling beautifully decorated miniature chariots through the lanes and bylanes of Agartala, creating a festive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, joy, and religious devotion. The young participants decorated the chariots with idols and images of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra, and took part in the processions with great excitement.

Family members and local residents also joined the celebrations, making the occasion a community event. In several areas, small Rath Yatra processions were organised amid kirtans, conch shell sounds, and chants of “Jai Jagannath.”

The sight of children holding the ropes of the chariots, dressed in colourful attire, added a special charm to the Rath Yatra celebrations in the capital. Parents said that these small chariot processions are playing an important role in introducing the younger generation to the traditions, culture, and spiritual significance of Rath Yatra.

With widespread participation and enthusiasm across various parts of the city, the small Rath Yatra celebrations have emerged as one of the major attractions of the festival, complementing the grandeur of the main chariot procession.
