Calling the recent One North East Unity rally a truly “historic” event, Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma on Friday urged party workers to intensify statewide outreach through joining drives and meetings.
Speaking during a Facebook Live session, the Tripura royal scion said the massive turnout at Agartala’s Swami Vivekananda Maidan marked an important moment for the Tiprasa community.
“I have never witnessed a crowd of this size. Even the roads were overflowing with people, and many supporters could not reach the venue due to blockades,” Pradyot said. “The overwhelming response shows that Tiprasa will no longer remain silent. Those who doubted our ability to organise such a rally stand corrected. Despite attempts to stop people from attending, the rally became a success for every tribal individual and for every parent who thinks about the future of their children.”
He further mentioned that Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma was also astonished by the scale of the gathering, remarking that he had never seen such a huge crowd.
“All our guests said the same,” Pradyot added. “My fight is for my tribal people, and now we must move ahead. I urge everyone to begin large-scale joining programs and meetings. Tiprasa is no longer alone. I seek no personal benefit—my struggle is for the next generation, and we will succeed. I thank everyone who contributed to the rally’s success, including the Tripura Police. This rally was about unity, and united, we cannot fail. I am with my people and will always stand by them.”
