The annual Baruni Mela was held once again at the confluence of the Laugang and Muhuri rivers in the Laugang area of Shantir Bazar subdivision, attracting thousands of visitors and creating a festive atmosphere from early morning.

Traders from different parts of the subdivision set up stalls at the mela, offering a wide range of goods, including local handicrafts, food items, and rural products, which became a major attraction for attendees.

Devotees gathered at the riverbank at dawn to take part in ritual baths as part of religious traditions. Many were seen offering water in the river to honor their ancestors and seek blessings. People from various parts of the state participated in this sacred event, making it a truly statewide gathering.
