The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has confirmed that it will contest all 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections. PCC President Asish Kumar Saha announced on Sunday that the party has already finalized its list of candidates, which will be made public soon after receiving approval from the central leadership.

Speaking after a meeting with party workers—attended by MLA Sudip Roy Barman and other senior leaders—Saha said the party has been actively preparing for the elections over the past two months, with significant efforts led by the Adivasi Congress.

He also indicated that the Congress is exploring the possibility of forming alliances with two regional parties to strengthen its position in the hill areas. According to him, such collaborations could enhance the party’s chances against the BJP and Tipra Motha.

“The candidate list for all constituencies is nearly ready and will be officially released once it gets the necessary approvals. We are working towards building a strong alliance to put up a tough fight in the hills,” Saha said.

Emphasizing the party’s commitment, he added that Congress approaches every election with seriousness and aims to present a comprehensive development agenda. The campaign will focus on issues such as development, tribal welfare, and grassroots empowerment.

Saha also noted that the party is giving importance to new faces and alliances as part of its strategy to reconnect with tribal voters who have distanced themselves from Congress in recent years.
