In a significant achievement, Tripura has become the first state in India to successfully implement all 23 Priority Areas identified during Phase-I of the national Compliance Reduction and Deregulation exercise initiated by the Centre.

In an official letter addressed to Tripura Chief Secretary  Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Cabinet Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan congratulated the state government for its outstanding performance and timely completion of the reform parameters set by the Task Force for States and Union Territories.

Dr. Somanathan praised the leadership of Sinha and the efforts of the state administration, stating that Tripura’s accomplishments have set an example for other States and Union Territories. “Your leadership and dedication to this exercise is truly commendable, and I appreciate your personal efforts for successful completion of this time bound task,” he wrote.

The Cabinet Secretary added that the Centre looks forward to the same proactive approach from the state in the upcoming Phase-II of the Compliance Reduction & Deregulation initiative, which will begin shortly.

The letter has also been marked to the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister for information.
