The Tripura unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a comprehensive booth verification exercise across the state, beginning August 18, aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots organisational structure.
According to an urgent notification issued by the BJP’s Tripura State Executive Committee, State BJP President Abhishek Debroy has directed all district presidents to initiate the verification process in their respective areas.
As part of the exercise, inactive and weak booths will be identified and necessary organisational changes will be made. The party has instructed that new workers be assigned responsibilities wherever required, while those entrusted with booth verification duties have been asked to remain free from other organisational or administrative responsibilities.
A five-member State Booth Verification Team has been constituted to supervise and coordinate the exercise. State BJP Vice-President Tapas Bhattacharya has been appointed as Convenor. Nabadal Banik, Bhumika Nanda Reang, Avijit Deb and Debabrata Bhattacharjee have been named as Co-Convenors.
The notification states that every district will form a three-member committee comprising one Convenor and two Co-Convenors. Similarly, each mandal will have a district-level in-charge, who will form a three-member mandal verification team to carry out the exercise.
The BJP has set August 24, as the deadline for completing the booth verification process across the state.
The initiative is aimed at assessing the functioning of booth-level organisational units, strengthening weak areas and ensuring greater preparedness at the grassroots level.
