Tripura BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma on Sunday took a swipe at Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of the Tipra Motha Party, suggesting that politics based on emotional appeals may work temporarily but cannot sustain long-term support.
He emphasized that the people are now aware of the Tipra Motha Party’s motives, which has led to many joining the BJP.
Bipin made the remarks while welcoming 1,336 families, totaling 3,189 voters, into the BJP at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan. He particularly noted the large number of young members from Tipra Motha who are now switching sides, calling them vital for the party’s future initiatives.
“Using emotional blackmail might give short-term gains, but the public has seen through it. Such tactics appear self-serving, aimed at personal or family benefits, which is why people are now choosing BJP,” Bipin said.
He further accused Tipra Motha of displaying “crocodile tears” to gain attention. “If the party genuinely wanted the people’s trust, they would prioritize development work and stand by citizens through both good and difficult times. Instead, they are mired in internal disputes,” he added.
