Tripura BJP state president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on Friday after he complained of chest pain.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha visited the hospital to enquire about his health and spoke to the attending doctors.

Briefing the media after the visit, Dr. Saha said that Bhattacharjee has been diagnosed with heart ischemia, though his condition remains stable. He added that Bhattacharjee had been experiencing chest discomfort for the past few days.

Doctors are keeping him under close observation in the cardiac unit, and initial medical evaluations indicate that a stent insertion may be required.

Bhattacharjee, who recently spearheaded several key organisational programmes of the BJP in Tripura, continues to be monitored by specialists as further assessments are underway.
