Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Chief Minister Dr. Saha said the state government stands firmly with the bereaved families and the injured, assuring timely relief and all possible assistance during this difficult time. He added that the district administration is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to extend support to the affected families.
The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday when a newly constructed furnace at the ABC Brick Kiln in the Aperskar area collapsed after a fire was lit during an inauguration ritual. At least five workers lost their lives, while three others sustained serious injuries.
Rescue operations were immediately carried out by teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Fire Service personnel, and local police. Excavators were used to clear debris, and the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals by ambulance. Those critically injured were later referred to GB Hospital for advanced treatment.
