In a heartening move for government employees and pensioners, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today announced a 5% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR).
After the budget speech on the second day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Dr. Saha said, “We have financial constraints, but for the benefit and welfare of government employees and pensioners, we are announcing 5% DA and DR for them.”
He said that this will be implemented from April 1, 2026.
He said that 1.2 lakh regular employees and 81,019 pensioners and family pensioners will benefit from the decision, and a total of Rs 500 crore will be spent.
