The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday unveiled its election manifesto for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls, highlighting eight major commitments focused on governance and tribal welfare.
The manifesto was released by Tripura Congress in-charge and MP Saptagiri Ulaka, in the presence of TPCC president Asish Kumar Saha and other senior leaders.
Key priorities outlined in the document include ensuring transparent and accountable administration within the district council, safeguarding land and forest rights of tribal communities, promoting education and skill development, improving infrastructure and living standards, generating employment opportunities, boosting economic growth, and preserving tribal culture and identity.
Speaking to reporters, Ulaka said he is in the state to participate in a bike rally in Dharmanagar ahead of the upcoming by-election. He expressed confidence in the party’s preparedness and prospects.
“The party has been working vigorously to secure victory for our candidate, Chayan Bhattacharya. We have announced our list of star campaigners, and a large public rally is scheduled in Dharmanagar tomorrow. We are optimistic about winning the seat with a significant margin,” he said.
Ulaka also mentioned that the Congress will contest the TTAADC elections in alliance with its partners. He emphasized the party’s long-standing commitment to tribal welfare and strengthening the autonomous district council.
“If we come to power in the ADC, we will continue working for the welfare of tribal communities and ensure the council is strengthened. Despite our repeated demands for the development of the ADC, the BJP government has not responded positively. Instead, they are misleading people and misusing public resources,” he alleged.
He further claimed that people are aware of the current situation, including incidents of alleged attacks on party workers and offices, and believe that Congress remains the only party capable of effectively challenging the BJP.
