The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) today has strongly condemned the introduction of around 10 draft bills in Parliament, including proposals on seed policies and the privatization of power, terming them “anti-people” initiatives.

TPCC President Asish Kumar Saha said, “These bills are against the interests of the common people. They reflect policies that will adversely affect farmers, laborers, and the general public. We cannot let such decisions go unchallenged.”

In response, the Tripura Congress, along with its farmers’ and labor wings, held a protest meeting at Orient Chowmuhani today. Party members raised slogans and demanded that the government reconsider these bills, which they described as harmful and regressive.

Saha added, “The present government’s steps and proposed legislations are completely against the welfare of the people. We strongly oppose them and will continue to fight for the rights and interests of Tripura’s citizens.”

The protest highlights the growing opposition within the state against policies perceived to favor privatization and corporate interests over public welfare.
