Tripura today participated in the nationwide release of the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally transferred funds from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Farmers across the state will collectively receive Rs 42.03 crore, which will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries.

According to officials from the Agriculture Department, the PM-KISAN scheme—introduced in Tripura in February 2019—has emerged as a vital financial support mechanism for farming families. The coverage of the scheme has grown steadily due to continued efforts by both the State and Central governments, with special provisions ensuring inclusion of patta-holding farmers in RoFR areas.

“So far, 2,90,237 farmers in Tripura have been registered under PM-KISAN. Up to the 20th installment, the state received ₹889.52 crore, benefiting 2,85,521 farmers through direct transfers,” an official said.

With the disbursement of the 21st installment, thousands more farmers will receive ₹2,000 each, part of the annual ₹6,000 support provided in three installments.

To facilitate participation, the state government arranged live telecasts of the Prime Minister’s event at district headquarters, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, block offices, and village-level venues. Farmers, officials, and local representatives joined the gatherings across the state.
