The state government has assured that the supply of petrol, diesel, LPG, and other essential commodities is normal and there is no reason for public panic.
This was stated by Debopriya Bardhan, Special Secretary of the Food Department, at a press conference held at the office of the Director of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.
Speaking at the event, he said that Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Food Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, and Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha are monitoring the supply of essential commodities daily. Monitoring is also being conducted at district and sub-district levels.
He added that LPG bookings are being processed within 15–25 days in urban areas and within 45 days in rural areas. In case of any issues, the Food Department will coordinate with distributors.
The department is also keeping a close watch on the prices of essential commodities to ensure that prices do not increase unnecessarily.
Citizens can report any complaints or issues regarding petrol, diesel, LPG, or other essential items to the Food Department. A state-level control room has been set up for this purpose. The control room numbers are 1095 / 1077, and WhatsApp can be reached at 6033374544. Additionally, citizens can use the website cmhelpline.tripura.gov.in.
Special Secretary Bardhan further stated that strict action will be taken under the Essential Commodities Act against black-marketing and unscrupulous traders. Director Sumit Lodha of the Food Department was also present at the press conference.
