The Tripura High Court today held a hearing in the ongoing illegal immigration case. A division bench comprising Justice M. S. Rao and Justice Bishwajit Palit presided over the proceedings.

During the hearing, the court directed that the applications filed by MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Sajra Debbarma, and Amarjit Debbarma should be specifically addressed within the next three months.

The issue of illegal immigration has been a subject of prolonged debate in the state. MLA Ranjit Debbarma has repeatedly brought the matter to the government’s attention.

However, he approached the High Court claiming that the government’s stance on the issue remains unclear, seeking judicial intervention to clarify the matter.
