Tripura has earned national recognition as three of its panchayats secured top honours in the Deen Dayal Upadhyay & Nanaji Deshmukh Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar 2025, awarded by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Announcing the achievement, Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his happiness, stating that the state has performed exceptionally well at the national level.
He highlighted that:
- Sepahijala district was ranked No. 1 as Best District Panchayat
- Kanchabari Gram Panchayat secured Rank 1 in the Healthy Panchayat category
- Baikunthapur Gram Panchayat achieved Rank 3 in the Women-Friendly Panchayat category
The Chief Minister also shared that the award-winning bodies will receive prize amounts of Rs 5 crore, Rs 1 crore, and Rs 50 lakh respectively.
Calling it a proud moment, Dr. Saha praised the strength of grassroots governance in Tripura and congratulated all those involved in this achievement.
