Tripura is set to celebrate the dedication and excellence of its police force during the upcoming Tripura Police Week, scheduled for February 25. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, underscoring the importance of honoring the state’s law enforcement personnel.

As part of the celebrations, 81 Tripura Police personnel will be awarded the prestigious DGP Commendation Disc for their exemplary service. Among those being recognized are:

  • Rati Ranjan Debnath, DIG
  • Bijoy Debbarma, Superintendent of Sepahijala District
  • Namit Pathak, Superintendent of West District
  • Avinas Rai, Superintendent of North District
  • Rajib Sengupta, Commandant of the 15th Battalion
  • Piyamadhuri Majumder, Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences
  • Rajdeep Deb, Superintendent of Police, Police Control
  • Additional SPs and SDPOs including Dhruba Nath, Rajib Sutradhar, Vishal Kumar, Debaprasad Roy, Samudra Debbarma, among others

In addition to the commendation discs, special awards will be presented to outstanding personnel in various categories:

  • Best Clerical Staff: Kumar Sunil Gupta (Tripura State Rifles) and Arpita Deb (Tripura Police)
  • Best Investigator of 2025: Subhajit Deb
  • Policeman of the Year 2025: Jayanta Karmakar

The event will also recognize police stations and units that have demonstrated excellence:

  • Sabroom Police Station (South District) – Best use of technology
  • Kailashahar Police Station (Unakoti District) – Exemplary Beat System
  • Sonamura Police Station (Sepahijala District) – Best Police Station of 2025

At the district and unit level:

  • North District – Best Beat System
  • Tripura Crime Branch – Best unit for technological adoption
  • 7th Battalion, TSR – Best TSR Battalion
  • West Tripura District – Best district of 2025

The Tripura Police Week not only celebrates the commitment and achievements of individual officers but also highlights the collective contributions of districts, battalions, and specialized units. It emphasizes innovation, technology adoption, and efficiency in policing to ensure law and order across the state.
