The Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress today has alleged serious irregularities in the recent recruitment notification issued by the state’s Health Department.

Acting on these allegations, representatives of the organization submitted a memorandum to the Director of Health Services on Friday.

Youth Congress president Neelkamal Saha stated that the Health Department recently announced recruitment for 85 key posts, attracting applications from over 18,000 educated unemployed youths across the state. Expressing deep concern over the upcoming written examinations scheduled for October 25 and 26, he accused the department of violating established recruitment norms.

Saha pointed out that under the 2018 Recruitment Policy declared by the state government, it is mandatory to publish the syllabus with every recruitment notification and to conduct examinations through OMR sheets to ensure transparency. However, during a previous recruitment test held in 2024 based on a 2021 notification, the department allegedly conducted the exam on plain paper without publishing any syllabus, thus “paving the way for corruption and malpractice.”

He further warned that similar irregularities might be repeated this time. The Youth Congress demanded that the upcoming recruitment examinations be immediately postponed, and a fresh notification be issued with a clear syllabus and provision for OMR-based testing.

“If these demands are ignored, the Youth Congress will launch a larger movement to ensure fair recruitment practices in the state,” Saha added.
