The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Members of District Council (MDCs) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is scheduled to be held on April 27 at Khumulwng, the headquarters of the council.
The election to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council was conducted on April 12, in which the Tipra Motha Party secured a decisive victory by winning 24 out of 28 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to win 4 seats.
According to official sources, with the permission of Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nally, the Law Secretary will administer the oath of office to the newly elected MDCs.
Sources further added that on the day of the ceremony, the first meeting of the newly constituted council will also be held under the chairmanship of the Governor.
Following this, the selection process for the posts of Chairman, Chief Executive Member (CEM), and other Executive Members is expected to take place in the first week of May.
The developments mark the formal beginning of the new council term, with administrative and leadership transitions set to follow shortly after the oath-taking ceremony.
