Last night, Tripura Police of Sonamura Police Station arrested two individuals accused of being involved in drug trafficking.

It is noteworthy that on the night of 15.09.2025, during a joint operation by Sonamura Police and the 81st Battalion BSF, a drug peddler named Md. Mustafa was apprehended. A total of 102 kg of cannabis (ganja) was seized from his possession. Mustafa is currently in jail.

Following further investigation into the same case, two more drug peddlers have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the narcotics trade. 

Authorities believe that more arrests may follow as the investigation continues in the region.

The arrested persons are Samir Miah and Ihid Miah.

Both are residents of Kamal Nagar, Krishna Dola, under Sonamura Police Station, Sepahijala District, Tripura.
