Tripura Police of NCC Police Station carried out an anti-narcotics operation at Guwala Basti in the capital and arrested three drug peddlers. 

However, two notorious drug mafia members  Bapi Sarkar and Romeo Sarkar  managed to escape after sensing the police raid. An NDPS case was registered against them, and an investigation was launched.

On November 29, police arrested Bapi Sarkar from GB Bazar. He was produced before the court with a prayer for one-day police remand. During interrogation, police obtained information about the whereabouts of the other absconding accused. Following this lead, NCC Police arrested the second accused on November 30.

On Monday, both accused were produced before the court. Bapi Sarkar was presented after completing one day of police remand. According to police, both individuals have long been involved in drug trafficking and various antisocial activities. The NCC Police Station Officer-in-Charge stated that they expect to gather more crucial information from the duo during the ongoing investigation.
